Welcome to NSU's Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA)! Here you will find everything you need to know about student financial aid, including how to apply, financial aid deadlines, and types of aid available to graduate and undergraduate students, including Florida student financial aid. Our office administers federal, state, and university financial aid programs such as grants, loans, scholarships, and veterans benefits. Please take a moment to explore our site!
If you have not yet registered for the Winter 2018 semester, Enrollment and Student Services encourages you to do so as soon as possible.
Should a hold on your account prevent you from registering, please take the appropriate actions to have the hold resolved. All balances due must be paid prior to your program’s registration deadline in order to register. Registrations after your program’s drop/add or registration deadline will not be accepted. If you have applied for financial aid, you will not receive your financial aid funds until you are registered for degree-applicable classes.
To register for classes, log into your Sharklink account. For academic counseling prior to registration, please contact your academic advisor. Please note that the university will be operating under reduced hours during the winter break. Therefore, please ensure that you are registered by Thursday, December 21, 2017. You will still be able to register until your program registration deadline; however, registration after December 21, 2017, may result in a delay of your financial aid funds.
Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will be closed December 24, 2017, through January 1, 2018, in observance of the holiday season. Therefore, NSU will begin processing student refunds (direct deposit or checks) for the Winter semester beginning January 2, 2018.
To sign up for Direct Deposit, submit a completed Direct Deposit Authorization no later than December 15, 2017. Direct Deposit Authorizations received after this date will become effective for refunds after the Winter 2017 semester.
Important: Refunds can only be processed for students who have an active and current mailing address on file in WebSTAR. You may verify your address and make any necessary updates, by logging into SharkLink, selecting the green WebSTAR tile from the application slider bar, and clicking “Personal Information.”
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for aid in the 2018-2019 academic year is now available at www.fafsa.gov. The IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT), which allows you to import your (your parent’s) IRS tax information into your FAFSA, is available with enhanced privacy protection. Not everyone is eligible to use the IRS DRT, and the IRS DRT does not input all the financial information required on the FAFSA form. Therefore, you should have your 2016 tax return and 2016 IRS W-2 available for reference. Use NSU's Federal Code 001509 to ensure NSU receives your FAFSA information.
